Stars On The Rise 2014 – Hell’s Belles Roller Girls

Updated: February 21, 2014

We’re profiling all of the teams that will be competing in the Heartland Series 2014. We’ve asked them to highlight the skaters hoping to make an impression in the Series and tell us a bit about themselves, to introduce our new teams and welcome back our friends from 2013. Today’s stars, competing in the opening bout of the South East Division and one of the founder members of the End Of The World Series, Hell’s Belles Roller Girls!

How was 2013?

Hertfordshire’s Hell’s Belles Roller Girls loved being a part of the 2013 Heartland Series. The Heartland Series and the End of The World Series has given our league a focus over the last few years, and more than that it has provided the league with a place to grow, learn, develop and be inspired. We are hugely grateful to the tournament organisers and to everyone involved. We came close to a win numerous times in 2013, we had some tough, exciting bouts and we feel like we fought valiantly. We take something away from each game that we play, we learn, both as individual players and as a team. Each bout makes us tougher and more determined. Heartlands 2013 – the Belles thank and salute you.

Jammer To Watch – Scarlett Heartless

Scarlett Heartless
The Belles are slowly brewing a devilish line-up of jammers over in Hertfordshire. Scarlett is our latest addition. Have you ever had a league transfer that just slips right into your fold so seamlessly that it’s like that skater was always there and you can’t imagine life without her? Yup, that’s our Scarlett. Don’t let her petite size and nonchalant gaze deceive you. Stints with both Leeds Roller Dolls and Big Bucks High Rollers has given Scarlett the chance to develop a tactful understanding of the game; her quick thinking and quick footwork make Scarlett a fine addition to the Belles jammer line-up.

Blocker To Watch – Candy Cane-Her

Candy Cane-Her
Candy has been with the league for the best part of 2013 and she’s been busy sugaring her cane to perfection. A born blocker, Candy has quickly become one of the most feared amongst the Belles line-up, and for good reason – she is a solid and strong player and she can make the opposition tumble with ease. Candy made the bouting line-up towards the end of 2013 and after only her second bout she deservedly picked up a best blocker award…we have absolutely no doubt that this was her first of many more to come.

Rookie To Watch – Les Be Avenue

Les Be Avenue
Emerging from the same fiery hell as Candy back towards the beginning of 2013, Les Be Avenue is our rookie to watch for 2014. You will see Lexi in the Belles blocking line-up predominantly, but behind the scenes her jamming skills are quietly emerging and you may well see Lexi wearing the star before the 2014 season ends. The Belles sense double threat potential. Lexi will win your heart with her big mischievous and friendly grin, but watch out, she’s a focused and quick player on track and she is fiercely protective of her team!

What are your hopes and goals for the Heartland Series in 2014?

So, Heartlands 2014…Hell’s Belles Roller Girls are rolling into you with renewed determination and positive spirit. We are stronger, we are fitter, and we are wiser. We are focused. What do we want? We want to win, and we want to enjoy the awesomeness of Heartlands 2014 and everyone involved along our way. Our goal for this year? To finish the South East Division at least halfway up the table. Bring. It. On.
